"Kinsey Millhone has an easy job, deliver $25,000 to a 15 year old kid. After the retainer check turned up phoney, and her client turns up dead, Kinsey is caught up with a whole host of people who were delighted to hear of her client's death. "

"Kinsey Millhone has another puzzle to solve. Her client, Alvin Limbardo came to her with a $25,000 dollar check. She was to deliver it to a fifteen-year-old kid. The check turned out to be as phony as Alvin himself was. In real life, his name was John Daggett, a chronic drunk with a record as long as your arm and a reputation for sleazy deals. But he wasn't just a deadbeat. By the time Kinsey caught up to him, he was a dead person-with a whole host of people who wanted him dead. Kinsey the has a murder case to solve. Who killed John Daggett? It could be one of four people.Kinsey does her research to find out which one."
