Plot Summary of Coraline
"Coraline is a young girl who has just moved into a new flat with her mother and father. She explores outside the flat and she explores the flat itself. She has quirky neighbors and one of the doors in the flat opens to a brick wall most of the time. When it doesn't, it opens to another flat exactly like the one she and her family live in, only the food is better and everything is more interesting. Unfortunately, her other mother and other father want her to stay there forever. "
Melissa Cookson, Resident Scholar

"This book is about a girl named Coraline who finds a door that leads into her other mother's world. Coraline's parents are trapped in that world. Coraline has to rescue them all and get back to her own world."
Ashley, Resident Scholar

"Coraline, a slightly pouty and apathetic girl, moves into a new flat with her parents where she finds that the only interesting thing to do is explore. She explores the gardens until the day it rains when she decides to exploe the house. She finds a door that leads to nothing but a brick wall-- At first. One day she opens it and finds an alternate flat, very much like her own, but not quite. The colors are a little brighter, the food is a little better, the toys are more fun, and her "other mother" and "other father" are more engaged with her. When her real parents go missing, Coraline knows it's up to her to save them, without getting trapped in the "other" world forever. And then things become scary."
Clara, Resident Scholar
