Plot Summary of Elizabeth: The Struggle for the Throne
"Most of the emphasis of this book is on the young Elizabeth I in great detail, and her early days as Queen. However her later life is also mentioned. The author goes into great detail on what motivated the Queen, and how she gained wisdom to rule from having her life constantly in danger from her sister Mary I. A woman in a man's world, confidant of her destiny to reign, intelligent and passionate, yet wise enough to know when to pull back."
Janet Gratton, Resident Scholar
