"Nick has barely begun his first vacation from his specialized FBI unit when his lifelong friend Father Tom calls and asks him to help--he has received a confession from a man who says he plans to kill Laurant. Upon discovering this, Laurant puts her foot down and says she will return to her small town Iowa home and wait the guy out; she's not about to put her life on hold for him. So Nick goes with her and falling in love ensues...With the help of his friend Noah, Nick investigates and protects Laurant from a killer that may have more motive than mere obsession."
