| Plot Summary of With This Ring |
"Beatrice Poole, an author of "horrid novels", is seeking answers in her uncle's death. She is convinced that it has something to do with the Forbidden Rings of Aphrodite. With courage, she asks for the help of Leo Drake, the Mad Monk of Monkcrest. Leo doesn't care much about the rings, but refuses to let Beatrice go on the search alone. Together they venture into the dark of London, where someone is watching, and waiting, for the two to find the treasure. "

"Beatrice's uncle has been murdered and she goes to the castle of the elusive "Mad Monk of Monkcrest" a historian and Earl, to help her find the treasure that her uncle spent all his money on. Her uncle died while with a prostitute at the "House of the Rod" and was being treated at a shady apothocary for impotency. Both could be involved in killing. Or it could be one the the museum curators he visited just before he died. Leo and Beatrice are nearly kidnapped but escape with the help of another prostitute. Beatrice also runs a school to retrain prostitutes into better professions and tries to help several along the way. They must find the treasure and restore her uncles fortune before they are killed by the murderers. "
