| Plot Summary of The Highlander's Touch |
"Lisa Stone's world was full of responsibilities: caring for her mother, working two jobs, and trying to find that ray of happiness that always seemed to disappear when she was near. But all that changed when she touched a magical flask one night and found herself transported back into the fourteenth century and thrust into the arms of a stoic highlander whose secrets she's eager to uncover. Cicerrn Brodie's lived without love for almost five-hundred years, vowing to protect the sacred hallows of the Templars at any cost- including the promise to kill he who returns the hallowed flask. Little does he expect "he" to be a "she", and a wild, exotic, stubborn, and throughly irritating "she" at that. Soon, Lisa pervades his every thought, every wish, every desire, and he finds himself torn for the first time between salvation and damnation...but completely unable to tell them apart"

"After her father died, Lisa worked hard to help her mother, and she worked harder still when it was discovered that her mother had cancer. She's spent so much time trying to help her family that she doesn't have much of a life anymore.
During her time at her second job, working as a night maid at a museum, she touches an ancient flask and is transported back to Scotland in the year 1308. The man she is transported to is Circenn, who swore an oath to a fairy that he would kill whoever discovered the flask. However, Circenn is reluctant to fulfill his oath, because he doesn't believe Lisa is guilty of anything. He has no way of sending Lisa back to her own time, so, grasping at a loophole in the oath, he gets to know Lisa and the two start to fall in love.
However, Lisa still wants to go back to her own time, because she wants to be with her sick mother. Also, Circenn has secrets of his own. He's worried about falling in love with Lisa, because he's immortal, which means that he would have to watch her grow old and die. He hates his immortality and fears that the magic that he can do is evil. He worries about sharing all his secrets with Lisa, because he's afraid that she'll want to leave him if he does."
