| Plot Summary of Stars Shine After Dark |
"Mona grew up in Hollywood as a child actor. She meets, and falls in love with Tim, a star quarterback for UCLA. They marry, and all seems fine, until a car crash ends Tim's professional career hopes. Having backbone, Mona takes on the role of bread winner, and Tim grows to resent her success. Meanwhile, Suzie, Mona's best friend, reports the relationship to a tabloid paper, thinking that she is helping Mona develop a more mature image. Tim looks for a way to get out of the marriage without ruining Mona's currant image of "nice girl next door", and takes a cue from Suzie. He starts to make Mona believe that he is having an affair, hoping that she will ask for a divorce, which will allow her to keep her public image.
Tim makes friends with Tina at a health club, and is tempted to cheat for real. But instead, she opens up her heart and tells him what she thinks of what he is doing. This causes him to do some soul searching, and he realizes that he was born to win, and the real solution is for him to change careers, not wives.
Meantime, Mona and Tina both have changes of heart and inner awareness, too. They change their tunes as well, and they all live happily ever after."
