This time, Rhyme seeks revenge because The Dancer killed his lover at a crime scene. This book flows like lava leaving nothing in its path as the two try and out smart the Dancer. The book centers around a killer-for-hire called the Coffin Dancer (called such due to a tattoo on the killer that displays the grim reaper dancing with a woman infront of a coffin). Also returning in this volume is Amelia Sachs, Lincoln's protege and lover. Together they must find the Coffin Dancer before he kills again. Forensic detail plays a large part in the plot.
