Just having graduated from college, Eve Vitali has landed a temp job as an assistant to the editor of Bicycle Boy magazine. Her closest friend Tabitha also works in the same building as an assistant to the editor of NY BY Night. Eve lives with her parents in her old room in New Jersey, partying over the weekends at places where the rich and famous go to make a statement.
Her college roommate persuades Eve to leave the nest and move into the city. The pair is once again roommates even though Tabitha feels like an extra wheel and isn't happy with the arrangements. Looking for guys and a place to find them is the extent of the trio's social life. On the business front, Eve, a journalism major, sees no future for her at the company and realizes that if something is to change, she will have to do something drastic.
ON THE VERGE is a lighthearted coming of age tale in the Big Apple. The protagonist shows growth throughout the story line making decisions that will eventually lead to her taking a huge corner risk. Readers will hope she succeeds because she's perky and bright displaying the potential to go far in her chosen field if she can get her act together. Ariella Papa has written a work that will appeal to the under thirty crowd.
