Plot Summary of Billy Straight
"Billy Straight, just a child, but oh so wise for his years runs away from home where his mother is ensnared in an abusive relationship. He escapes to Los Angeles, hoping that life will be better for him there. But life as a runaway is no bowl of cherries--he must learn to deal with all manner of depraved individuals and learn to cope with a variety of hard-knocks which life keeps throwing at him. He is gritty and determined to survive, but this proves to be a difficult task for a child alone in a big, dangerous city."

"Billy Straight has run away from his mother and her abusive boyfriend. He quickly learns how to live on the streets and stay alive. Unwittingly, he also becomes the only witness to a murder. Billy keeps his mouth shut but L.A.P.D. Detective Petra Connor learns he was a witness.

In time, a reward is placed on Billy's head so the cops can get an identification of the murderer they seek. The killer also sees the reward poster and learns he wasn't as sleek as he thought. The killer poses as a cop to get information leading the boy, not to collect the money, but to silence him once and for all."
