Plot Summary of The King's Buccaneer
"Nicholas, the future ruler of Midkemia is a tearaway teenager, so his father King Arutha sends him to his Uncle Martin at Crydee to make him into an apropriate charater to rule a Kingdom. While there he and his friend Harry fall for two girls of the court but unfortunately the girl Nicholas is interested in is also the object of his cousin's affection causing a great rivalry between the boys. An horrific raid on the town while the group are out hunting leaves most of Crydee's population killed and the rest (including the two girls) kidnapped and taken overseas to unknown lands. Nicholas is forced to team up with Harry, Marcus and the former pirate Amos Trask to travel to the unknown land of Novindus to attempt to rescue his people. But this is not just any kidnapping as the kidnappers have a dark purpose for wanting the people involving the evil Pantathian (serpent men) race. The group must rescue the captives and return to Midkemia to tell King Arutha of the Pantathin race. This novel is the lead-up to the Serpentwar saga"
