"The heartbreaking story of the unlikely friendship between Michael Cooke Holt, a wealthy New Yorker, and Elijah Broom, a black tent-fundamentalist preacher. Michael records their journey through America between 1917-1925, as they meet historical figures ( Blind Willie Johnson, William Jennings Bryan, ex.) and observe and become part of events (Tulsa Race Riots, Scopes Trial)."
