Plot Summary of Lightning Strikes
"Taken from her poor but loving family, Rain now lives with the rich crowd but doesn't feel wanted. Her true desire is to be in the theater. This is where she will find comfort as she uncovers family secrets. She enrolls in a drama school in England where she will live with the Endfield family which are her great aunt Lenora and great uncle Richard. Rain hears laughter in the halls at night and lights in areas that are off limits to her. Everything in the house is cold and untouched like in a museum. The house is ran like a millitary camp. One of the secrets that Rain discovers is that her uncle is pretending his daughter that died years ago at a very young age is still alive. Rain also goes on the hunt to find her real father. The twists and turns in this book kept me in great suspense. You must read it for yourself to find all the hidden secrets of this deluded family."
Sherrie L. Jones, Resident Scholar

"Rain Hudson lived in what they called the projects in Washington D.C. after moving in with her wealthy Grandmother Hudson. She recently found out about how her mother got pregnant with her while still in college. Her grandfather found out that she was fathered by a black african american man. Her grandfather paid his adoptive father, Ken Arnolds. Being an alcoholic without work, Ken took her in and she was raised by Ken's wife,Latisha Arnolds. After her adoptive sister was murdered by gang members, her adoptive mother sent her to live with her wealthy parents. Rain's real mother, Meagan, didn't want to ruin her husband's reputation so she lied that rain would live with her mom as a part of local charity work. Rain's Grandmother immediately liked her so she sent her to a prestigous school in London for the Performing Arts. After her Grandmother died she inherited almost all of her grandmother wealth and more than half of the Hudson's estate."
