"The book is about a journalist who is writing articles about the death of a teenager. He becomes very involved and finds clues the police have missed. The girl was about 13 and her mother was involved with a politician. He has a very strong influence on the town, so he and his son can get away with anything even murder! You get to follow the reporter through all of the events leading to his discovery of the murder and travel around California. "
