" Owen Archer's four assignment is an intriguing adventure. He has been ordered by the Archbishop of York to accompany a churchly delegation that is seeking information concerning an upcoming nomination for a bishopric by King Edward IV. It seems a simple enough matter, but before they can set off on their journey, a young page is found dead. It is officially labeled as "accidental," but immediately after, another death is discovered and this time a friend of Owen's is accused of the murder, and all signs point to his guilt.
