"Book Two of The Mage Storms. Karal is the envoy, but no one will take him seriously because of his age. The Mage Storms are getting really bad, and no one knows what caused them or how to stop them. Solaris, High Priestess and ruler of Karse, decides to visit Valdemar and confirm Karal. Karal's friends at the Compass Rose and An'desha figure out what is causing the storms and how to maybe slow them down until a solution can be found to stop. With Karal's ability to channel and the other adepts, they slow the storms for awhile at least."
