|Plot Summary of Your Mother Has Suffered a Slight Stroke|
|"My mother suffered a stroke while having a routine medical test done. They thought it was slight, however they were wrong. I learned many things along the way that I wanted to share with other baby boomers who may have aging parents. I thought I was pretty intelligent and could handle anything. But I was not prepared for the world of hospitals, nursing homes, financial matters, patient's rights and the legalities of what to do when a patient's medical insurance and money run out. I had to learn things the hard way while trying to make sure my mother's medical care was good while her mental capacity deteriorated. I found that long-term nursing care has an exorbitant price tag; both financially and emotionally.
I searched bookstores and libraries and could not find a personal book to help me. I could only find medical books that were too complicated for me to digest, considering my mental state at the time. So, I wrote the book that I wish I could have found. It tells the personal story as well as educates the reader on the state of elder care.
