Perelandra (Voyage to Venus).
The most exciting work of fiction I have ever read. A re-creation of Paradise, with Adam and Eve in their unfallen state. This book also contains what I believe to be one of the most original but utterly convincing descriptions of angelic powers in modern literature.
2. Least favorite book and why?
I don't think I have a 'least favorite', but 'Til We Have Faces' is a rather dark, brooding, and quite violent romance - a retelling of the Greek legend of Cupid and Psyche. It is a tale of pure love, jealous love, betrayal, and the ache in the heart that results from our unresolved emotional needs. It does not have the 'uplift' of the rest of Lewis' fiction, but it does leave me pensive and peturbed.
