| Name | Laura Purvis |
| 1. Favorite book and why? |
The Poisonwood Bible is my favorite because I found it the most challenging and suspenseful and also because it had such an important political message.
|
| 2. Least favorite book and why? |
Pigs in Heaven is my least favorite if I have to pick one; I thought the ending was a bit too neat.
|
| 3. Favorite scene in favorite book and why? |
The reaction of the three surviving sisters to the death of the fourth in TPB was my favorite scene. The idea of a tragedy not being real until you tell someone else about it seems so true to me.
|
| 4. Favorite character and why? |
Leah is my favorite character because she is not perfect, yet she tries so hard to be the best she can be.
|
| 5. Which character do you identify most with and why? |
I identify with Orleana. When something awful happens to your child, no one can do anything to convince you it wasn't your fault.
|
| 6. If you could see a sequel to one of the author's books, which would it
be and what would it be about? |
I can't really see one. All of her books are so complete as they are. There are no questions still in need of answers when she's done. She's that good.
|
| 7. What do you like about author's writing style? |
Her descriptions of feelings and the accuracy with which she captures them is amazing.
|
| 8. What are your favorite themes of this author? |
The strength of women in a society that gives most of the credit for strength to men.
|
| 9. What could be most improved about this authors books? |
More of them!
