| 1. Favorite book and why? |
"Rainbow 6" is my true favorite. Rainbow 6 truly brought me into the world in which its' events take place. Clancy writes so descriptively of the respect between team members on a special forces team. You can feel the tension as the danger rises, and even begin to think like the villians when he choses (at some points the idea to wipe out humanity seemed like a good idea.) This is his use of persuasion writings. When it comes to battle, outside the emotions caused by the way he writes, you can see vividly all that is going on.
Clancy truly made Rainbow 6 a work of art.

| 2. Least favorite book and why? |
"Debt of Honor" was my least favorite because Clancy takes too long to develop a plot and makes the entire nation of Japan too racist.

| 3. Favorite scene in favorite book and why? |
My favorite scene in Rainbow 6 is also the most saddening. A lone terrorist, takes a little girl in a wheel chair outside in public view while his buddies hold the rest of the building. In the snipers' perspective, Clancy describes impossibly well the feelings of the snipers as they watch the terrorist pull a weapon and shoot the girl, kicking her wheel chair down a hill, and being able to do nothing so the terrorists inside wouldn't shoot the other kids.

| 4. Favorite character and why? |
John Kelly, known to most as John Clark. He is the "six" in the international team Rainbow, or the leader of it. Although "Rainbow 6" did a good job describing him in his elder years, his past remained a bit of a mystery. So then I picked up Clancy's "Without Remorse." This book is entirely about John Kelly after Vietnam. It describes how he fell in love after the tragic death of his wife, and how that 2nd love was brutally raped and murdered. It's a story of vengance, about John being a vigilante. A story how John Kelly a simple man became the CIA legend John Clark.

| 5. Which character do you identify most with and why? |
I would have to say John Clark. To old to do anything in the field anymore yet is still wise and easily has more experience then the rest of the team, so he is listened to. Occaisonally it comes to me that way.

| 6. If you could see a sequel to one of the author's books, which would it
be and what would it be about? |
I could see a definite future to Rainbow 6. After all, the book only covers its' first few missions. And the world will always be a very dangerous place.
|
| 7. What do you like about author's writing style? |
He's descriptive when you want him to be, to give you a finely tuned image of what's happening. But at the same time he will cut details short, to let your mind wander.
And who could forget the way he writes honor, respect, emotions, and ideology into his stories. You can feel all of them.
|
| 8. What are your favorite themes of this author? |
Special Forces is my personal favorite military type story from Clancy.
|
| 9. What could be most improved about this authors books? |
Occasionally he drags to the end in some of his books, especially so in "Debt of Honor," and some subplots are pointless and forgotten until the very end.
