| 1. Favorite book and why? |
'2001: A Space Odyssey", because it is a grippingly real look into the eventual possibility of machines becoming more intelligent than humans, and the infinite wonders of what's really 'out there'.
|
| 2. Least favorite book and why? |
'Flowers In The Attic', by v.c. Andrews was not much in the way of literature to me. In fact, all of her novels seem to be mired in the abused child/horror genre, which I find to be disturbing.

| 3. Favorite scene in favorite book and why? |
At the end of the novel when the main character, Dave, is heard yelling into the ship's radio, "My God, it's full of STARS!!!!", and then vanishes forever into the cold of space.
|
| 4. Favorite character and why? |
The HAL computer was my favorite character because it was a cold, unfeeling machine but, as time went by, slowly began to take on a personality which was both disturbing and, in the end, terrifying.

| 6. If you could see a sequel to one of the author's books, which would it
be and what would it be about? |
I would not even think about sequeling this book, although Mr. Clarke did anyway, and ended the story very satisfyingly.
|
| 7. What do you like about author's writing style? |
His ability to draw you into this imaginary world, which seems beyond human capability, but certainly within the realm of possibility.
|
| 8. What are your favorite themes of this author? |
Far and away, the genre of science fiction.
|
| 9. What could be most improved about this authors books? |
nothing.....absolutely nothing
