| 1. Favorite book and why? |
My favorite books are LeGuin's middle period books, written about the time I was born - The Earthsea Trilogy, the Dispossessed, The Left Hand of Darkness, although I've a soft spot for Always Coming Home. These middle period books are well written, acessible, and I feel they express what is good about LeGuin's writing most clearly and simply. The later books are excellent, probably better written, but somehow they lack the stature of her middle period.

| 2. Least favorite book and why? |
It's hard to pick a truely bad one. Always Coming home was a bit of a failure as a novel, but a triumph in other ways. Probably her early works are my least favorite - Lathe of Heaven, The word for world is forest. However even these show great promise.

| 3. Favorite scene in favorite book and why? |
Shevek and Takver's reunion in The Dispossessed. It's so soppy and sweet.
|
| 4. Favorite character and why? |
Probably Ged, the Wizard of Earthsea. He's a beleivable character who shows strength and (eventually) wisdom.
|
| 5. Which character do you identify most with and why? |
Maybe Ogion the mage of Gont. He was a simple, gentle, wise and kindly man.
|
| 6. If you could see a sequel to one of the author's books, which would it
be and what would it be about? |
Maybe a sequel to the Disposessed, seeing the beginnings of the Ekumen, and the building of the first Ansible. Of course the work is complete in and of itself.
|
| 7. What do you like about author's writing style? |
Her simplicity and great depth.
|
| 8. What are your favorite themes of this author? |
The theme of cycles and homecomming. "True journey is to return."
|
| 9. What could be most improved about this authors books? |
They are complete in and of themselves.
