| 1. Favorite book and why? |
The Silver Sword as I have said. It is basically the only one of his I have ever read, and I have had strong mixed feelings about it over the past 6 years that I have read it. It is a very deep book telling a simple story and it taught me a lot about the Polish people.

| 2. Least favorite book and why? |
The Silver Sword was also my least favourite book of his because it taught me lessons that were very uncomfortable.
|
| 3. Favorite scene in favorite book and why? |
I like the early scenes because they introduce the children and the scene and Joseph Balicki is shown as a humanitarian. It really shows the children's search for their mother.
|
| 4. Favorite character and why? |
I like Bronia the best because she was innocent and talented at drawing and everyone just seemed to love her-she had a magentism. Also I like Joe Wolski who is your everyday Pole.
|
| 5. Which character do you identify most with and why? |
I identify most with Ruth because she is so much like me as a person and had to go through a lot of traumas and had to look after and help so many people. Like in the school at the beginning, she had to teach all those children, while looking after her own family.

| 7. What do you like about author's writing style? |
That it is so simple and has a lot of dialogue. Also the chapters go quickly and are not too painful to read. He doesn't gratitueise too much.
|
| 8. What are your favorite themes of this author? |
Strength and endurance in ordinary people.

| Something about yourself |
Adelaide La Blanche-Dupont, 23 years, born Aix-en-Provence, France, moved to Cambridge when I was 10. Soon to graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree (Literature). Very interested in diverse parts of the world and people. Have written more than 50 books in seven years from 1994, first book "Mixed-Up Mam'zelle". Humourous, tolerant, simple-minded, lover of many things, knowledgeable and all around nice person.
