I was so hoping that there would be another book coming out. I cannot believe that Ms. Braun will not be amazing us with her creations again. I agree that Tom Selleck would be wonderful to play Jim Q. My condolences to Ms. Braun's husband and family - she left such a wonderful legacy for all.

I met Ms. Braun at a book signing in the 90's. Such an honor to meet the gracious lady responsible for so many wonderful hours with Qwilleran and the kitties.
Someone, Please!! make movies with Tom Selleck---he has the Qwilleran moustache.
Heartfelt condolences to Mr. Bettinger.
Ms. Braun and Qwilleran will forever occupy a special place in my heart.

Hopefully both her husband and the publisher will think of her fans and a most fitting tribute to her memory by letting someone who is able to capture her style finish writing "The Cat Who Smelled Smoke" so that the questions left unanswered in her last book will be answered. The chief of police told Q at the end of "The Cat Who Had 60 Whiskers" that he had more to tell him about the burning of the barn plus the other fires--but later. Hopefully a fitting tribute would be to allow the stories to conclude in one final book.

My condolences to the family. Her books have been such comfort when the world seems too hard and cold. What a great legacy to leave.

Lillian will be forever missed by my husband and me. We enjoyed her books and waited for a new one impatiently.
We are very sorry to hear her passing. Our condolences to her loved ones.

The announcement of her passing marks the conclusion of the final mystery of Lilian Jackson Braun, as those who so enjoyed her Qwill, Koko and Yum-Yum mystery series for so long learn she has indeed written her last book. Possibly her age and illness had something to do with the questions surrounding the last couple of books. Our sympathies to her loved ones remaining, and now we will see what the future might bring.

Tom Selleck is old enough to play Qwill now. Years ago, a Cat Who discussion group nominated Eric Braeden, but he's getting a bit past the age to play Qwill.

We all knew that his days was coming.
May she rest in peace with God.
My favorite book was the Cat Who Moved a Mountain.
If and when these stories are filmed, I believe that Tom Selleck would be excellent as Qwill.

We all knew it couldn't be too far in the future, given her age and recent ill health, but I cannot express the depth of my sense of loss. My condolences to Mr. Bettinger, and to all my fellow Moose County wannabees. I will dream of the cinematic treats to come.
