I do wish people would call Dr Armnstrong by her correct title if thay are going to use one at all. Not Ms or Mrs, but Dr. You don't get men's hard-won academic titles beign ignored like this . Other women in public life have this happen too, even someone of the stature of Madeleine Allbright , Clinton's Sec Of State. Nobody forgot Dr Kissingers title ....

Karen i have just finished seeing your comments and illustrations in a documentary 'Muhammad(pbuh): Legacy of a Prophet'. I was astonished and humble at the same time when words of Islam and teachings of our Prophet(pbuh) came from a non-muslim comparitive-religious writer. And at a time when Muslims are falsely thought to be a threat to humanity, I thank you for not only speaking the truth but also as an exemplery person for Muslims who are not performing their duties to maximum. Although it may be an interference to your privacy but i am very very curious to know which Faith do you identify yourself to be in. I will be more than glad if i get a response from you.

Karen, I am a student at Berklee College of Music in my 3rd semester of study, and in my time here I have lost sight of my purpose as a musician. I had been having many struggles as to why I'm even still doing it, why I don't conform to the rest of society; in short, I was lost.
I just finished reading A Short History of Myth, and I was captured for reasons unrelated to my existence as a musician. However, when I got to the very last chapter of the book, especially the very last sentence, "If professional religious leaders cannot instruct us in mythical lore, our artists and creative writers can perhaps step into this priestly role and bring fresh insight to our lost and damaged world", it reinstated the hope and cause that I felt when I first began playing many years ago. Thank you for that.

Please read "Thank God for Evolution" by Michael Dowd for what is a thoroughly inspiring and intriguing answer to the quest for a new myth for modern man (as suggested we all need in your "A short History of Myth").

Dear Ms. Karen Armstrong,
I have learnt a lot about the Abrahamic religions from your books.
However, in your book , "The Great Transformations", I did find your comments on one of the very important epics of Hinduism (Mahabharata) incorrect, unsubstantiated and rather offensive.
Please let me know your e-mail or mailing address where I can send you the details

Dear Ms. Armstrong,
Dedicating your life to service gives a unique insight that is a gift from God. Dropping judgmental words gets us past our programing to the holistice map of the whole universe that the whole mind has. Dropping negative words activates endorphines and is great for depression. What's that?
The reason I tell you that is that you can get to the spirit of truth by dropping judgmental words. In an age of hype, no statement excites people anymore. They think, oh, that's an interesting idea, but the spirit of truth and the spirit sltogether is what Jesus was all about. There is a lot of science behind it, if your interested, but the longer you drop opinion words, which come from your memeory and programing, the more you wiil see another bible overtop this one. Sort of what you are seeing now. Why not make it better, in your control, reach the genius within and your compassion, all at the same time. This trick would change the world more rapidly so that we don't have to wait another ten or twenty years for peace. See, I'm on the same desperate mission as you, and no one listens, no one hears, no one sees, no one feels.

I have read many of your books, beginning with A Short History of Myth. Your books really resonated with me unlike any other theological works.
Would you ever consider writing a book on the history/theology of Homosexuality across the various religious perspectives?

Dear Mrs. Armstrong,
I am a muslim living in Holland and I am very fond of your books. I am working at the Islamic University of Rotterdam. How can I get in contact with you for a personal meeting.

I'd like a honest vote, raise of hands how many of you would pick up a book on werewolves, vampires, magicians or cupid.
