Sure you can Angela but more importantly, is it important what others think about a fascinating book that has tilt-tilating insight on what human societies can be. I think of it this way.... If something appears too good to be true it must not be. This is an age old adage of our culture, is it not? So, is Marlo's story too good to be true. Certainly for some people and what is probably worse for those and perhaps others, it does away with "our" concept of modern society. So, here we have a woman who thought she was going to recieve an award at a Hotel Convention. Instead, she gets an education that transforms her life and those of others, you, me and others for ever. Here we have a society of humans in which we neither have the standard patriarchal or matriarchal society. It appears we have a society that is built upon the principle that all require nurturing, education spiritual awareness, healthcare etc, etc, etc. Doesn't appear there's room for brokers, lawyers, salesman, middlemen of any kind what so ever, does it? There simply not needed here! I can see how this would be threatning to others who earnestly believe that what we have now is the best and no further room for improvement is necessary at least not from down under, anyway. Let's make another fact observable: In the 1800's when many Americans started to settle the interior of our country they come across mounds that they could and would not attribute to the American Indian. Why might that be? That those dug up mounds revealed an ancient civilization of Native Americans that appeared to do just fine without the prevailing view of 1800's society. So, what did early Americans do, they dismissed those facts that Native Americans had been living here for far longer than what was originally thought at that time. And many Americans that were living at the time, I suspect, and many to this day still, cannot accept that those mounds are that of Native Americans and their ancestors and were living well with out the white Man showing up. Can you imagine what those same critics would think of Neal Donald Walsh's book: Tomorrows's God! they would probably want to do away with him as well as there is no tolerance in those societies for any kind of behavior except mutual all benefitting self interest. For some this could be very boring. That society in Marlo's book is all encompassing isn't it. Medical treatment, food intake, recreation is all done for the benefit of all. There appears to be no overriding self interest behavior on the part of any of the characters in the book, is there? Very threatening to our modern societal beliefs in my view. Absoultely! So WHAT!

I can't understand why so many people feel so negative about Marlo Morgans book. Despite the fabrication accusations it has a great message. And to those who cannot see it you are absolutely closed minded. If any thing this books main message is to love your self and love others. WHAT IS SO WRONG WITH THAT? These people who are hating on this book are only hurting and poisoning themselves. LOOK IN THE MIRROR BEFORE YOU JUDGE OTHER PEOPLE, YOUR DAY OF JUDGEMENT WILL COME TO YOU..DONT WORRY

I have just finished reading both books by Marlo Morgan and have to say that they are not only an excellent read but are true to the culture of the Australian Aboriginies. This is a subject that i have been interested in for well over twenty years and have done a great deal of research on. Marlo had to change some of the information in the book to insure that she did not indanger the people or the artifact that she talks of in "down under." There is no way to say if the event of the walkabout took place or if she did meet the person that she had agreed to meet in there past life but beside the point to me. The Aboriginies live there lives in a way that was very well portrayed by the author. I do however have a question for Marlo. Did Geoff return home or not.. I had a very hard time understanding how the book could end like it did. As much as i like the book i didn't like the choice you made in ending the story in the manner that you did. i would really like to know what happened to him. Please.....

Mrs Morgam, here you have someone whos has gone through similar situation.I have been working on this subject for a while and we both know are society is falling apart, because of the non acceptance of our true values. We came to this world with a purpose. Thre is no East and West. There is only the Being. The rest is trash that science, religion and philosophy covered us with. However there is a acception. we all should read MAURICE MERLEAU-PONTY. He is was a french philosopher rejected by the french materialism. Our society is blind full of old concepts. The accademy is good to help us to find a job, but most of the professors have their mind in 17th century. They have the only and absolute truth. Bastards !

Marlo Morgan's book has helped me settle some questions about my purpose. The wisdom that the tribe put into practice with each person having place to help others within the social structure was a delight to me. Thank you Marlo Morgan for this sharing. i have read it 5 times over the last 2 decades. Each time i learn something wonderful. 5/11/09

Mutant Message....what a beautiful story. It's comforting to know that we can as a species live in harmony with nature and be successful. It's a shame that so many other aborigine tribes have payed such a high price. It appears that, for them, removing themselves from society at large is the best course. I often wonder what it means for those of us who also contemplate true peaceful coexistence. Is it truly possible?

Have people become so blinded that they have given up being willing to learn? The way the world is going today, well, where does anyone think it will get us? Separation and isolation seem to be the order of the day, and self seems to be all-important. Can anyone deny that we are all in the same boat? This is our planet, where we happen to be, but it does not belong to us. What kind of stewards are we, or have we been, or will we be? Time to take stock and see the big picture, which I feel the Aboriginal people of Australia have always known. Three cheers for Marlo Morgan's book - 'Mutant message down under'.
