Read and enjoyed "High Country" immensely. Another tightly written mystery with enough suspenseful twists and turns for two books. Thank you for sharing your gift. One thing though. The folks in Gonzales, TX would be suprised to learn they live in "a tiny town on the Texas-Mexico border". Actually, Gonzalez is over 200 miles from Mexico. About the same distance as Washington D.C. is from New York City. And when the Texicans waved their "Come and Take it" flag and fired their cannon that day in October, 1835, they were far from "slaughered". After the cannon shot and a short skirmish the Mexicans, lead by Captain Francisco Castaneda, retreated to San Antonio and Gonzales earned the name "Lexington of Texas" for firing the first shot for Texas Independence. I guess the stress of the events at Lower Merced Pass Lake must have make Anna a bit forgetful.

I love to read a good book and I was so excited to find this series of thrillers. I was able to read High Country until I got to page 46, paragraph 3. Why can't an author write a story without using such foul, and disrespectful langauage? Please consider this as you write because I am sure that other's would also appreciate the chance to read a good book without all of the offensive language.

ENJOYED YOUR BOOK. MY FIRST ONE THAT YOU HAVE WRITTEN. I AM A WILDLIFE BIOLOGIST AND AS SUCH, PARTICUALARLY ENJOYED YOUR ATTENTION TO DETAIL WITH REGARD TO NATURAL RESOURCES. HOWEVER, I AM ALSO A HUNTER AND IT IS CLEAR THAT YOU NEED TO CONDUCT MORE RESEARCH CONCERNING THE THOUGHTS AND PHILLOSPHIES OF MANY HUNTERS, SOUTHERN OR NOT. MOST OF US ENJOY OUR TRIPS AFIELD AND ARE NOT THE SLOBS THAT YOU PORTRAIED IN YOUR BOOK. AS WITH ANY PARTICULAR GROUP,MORAL VALUES OF PARTICIPANTS VARY. I AM ALWAYS DISMAYED WHEN HUNTERS ARE LUMPED INTO A GROUP OF BLOOD THIRSTY, ILLEGAL, IGNORANT "GOOD-OLD-BOYS". MOST OF US ARE APPRECIATIVE OF WILDLIFE AND THE TIME WE ARE ABLE TO SPEND OUTDOORS.

Have read the entire Anna Pigeon series, and then tackled "Seeking Enlightment". In reading the intro/preface, I was ready to state AP was your alter-ego. Several of the revelation were like - yeah that's the way it is. I was most delighted to see - do it because it is the right thing to do! I have participated in many retreats where other stated their doing of things for a whole slew of high-minded reasons, and then I would keep quiet because I had no fancy reason, I had done it because it was the right thing to do and needed to be done. I was very happy to see that as one as step toward God. Oh yes, and I did very much miss Imogene G.. Definitely.
