i love eddings.i immerse myself in each new world completely.i love the fact that you can identify with each different character in your own way.he makes them human, which is rare in a fantasy writer.i've read his books numerous times and i love that, even though yov've read it 50 times, you'll still find new little details each time you read it.it's the ultimate read.what a wonderful world he's created for us.

While we all wait for the movie(s), there are great audio editions of the Belgariad and Mallorean available from Books in Motion. They have a website. The reader is really good. All the characters sounded like I imagined them to be. I listened to the CD version, but they have them in cassette and CD both.

hey i'm only 15 and first read the belgariad when i was 7, thought it was brilliant , too bad the mallorean was a bit of a let down. i'm not sure if i want to see it on film im not sure if its because i love having this own little world that i can just escape too, i hope no one thinks that i'm too sad but i get a great feeling readin these books over and over. lol! i've read the belgariad more than 50 times over, sad or what? great set of books though, eh? but, if it was to be on film, i would have christopher lambert as the vioce of prophecy, i just think he has that dry quality you know? i'd have sean connery (as someone said) as belgarath and possibly zeta jones as polgara. it would have to be some one truly lovable for silk though, isnt he great.

I too would like to see The Belgariad and The Mallorean immortalised on film. I always see Sean Connery as Belgarath. If she was a little younger Jane Seymour as Polgara. Brian Blessed as Barak and as Silk...mmm always struggle with that one! Suggestions anyone? Garion I see as my son Vincent who is 15 and has that dopey look down pat!! What does everyone else think? Jenny.

Yeah, maybe a good idea, but I can't seem to think of a good actor for Martel. I mean, hair color and eye-color can be changed, but who's going to be as derisive and relaxed as Martel when saying: 'Old boy' ? And Ulath... is there an actor big enough ? I thought Clive Owen could be Sparhawk. And just Torak's Tim Roth and Zakath's Alec Baldwin. Silk's Stephen Baldwin. And Tynian's Sean Bean. Of course, Voice of Prophecy... James Earl Jones. Could you think anyone better ?

Addicted Belgariad & Mallorean fan desperately wants tv series or movie based on the novels. Why should the likes of Tolkien & his hobbits or JK Rowlings Harry Potter get all the mad reviews? I think The Belgariad & The Mallorean series would make for fantastic viewing & entertainment if it is done well. I just wish I was that way inclined & gifted in cinematics, I would undertake the project myself. Doesn't anybody else wish to see this thing televised or made a movie epic like Star Wars or Ewok Adventure or The Lord of The Rings?

if they ever did make a movie about the elenium the special efects budget would be huge not to mention all of the characters that have 5-6 lines in the books also getting someone big enough to play miriti although it would be so cool if they ever did

if they did make a movie, then you couldn't have really well known actores play the parts, coz they wouldn't do it very well. at my school, we had this thing called Night of the Notables. and i did david eddings. it was fab to find out stuff on him. i also wrote to him and he wrote back and it was so exiting to get his letter, hes a realy nice person. my favourite books are the belgariad and the Mallorean!!! they were the some of the best books iv read!!
