I'm not sure if Anne Bishop is planning on writing 'what's next.' After the trilogy was published, she published Dreams Made Flesh, which is a collection of short stories. Some are inbetween the second and third book, and the last story, Kaeleer's Heart is the conclusion to Daemon and Jaenelle's story. My friends and I continued the story on our own, just for fun. I figured the writing would be good practice, as that is what I would like to do. We however, did not continue Jaenelle's story as much as start a new one. I think Anne Bishop finished the story appropriately with Dreams Made Flesh.

I have NEVER read a book, but while i was in the army, one of the girls brought in this very thick book, called the Black Jewels Trilogy, with all three of the books combined, i started reading it in Jan 05, it is now apr 05 and i have just finished but I am dying for more. I have to know what happens to Jaenelle and daemon! I need to know what book follows this one or whats next????

I am glad you enjoyed it. This series is definetly one of my most favorite fantasy series. I found the new book Ms. Bishop just released to be excellent. It did not begin a whole new storyline, but it added little anecdotes between the previous three and it wrapped up the end of Jaenelle and Daemon's story. I thought it was a tasteful book.

I just finished the Dark Realm series and I truly enjoyed it. The first book, I must admit, gave me pause. The 'Jewel' concept was so foreign to me that I really struggled with it. The emotional and physical violence toward the characters, and especially the children nearly freaked me out. However, I got through it too, and am anxiously awaiting more in the sequel.
