I think Angelina Jolie could possibly be a better Polgara than Zeta-Jones. Jolie has that edge that Polgara definitely has! I always thought Dustin Hoffmann was Silk - he's the right height and also quite rodent-like. Not sure if he's a bit too old though.. Someone suggested Brian Blessed for Barak - which sounds like a great idea!

nah not a patch on Eddings, read the riftwar series a while back and since haven't bothered to read anymore feist books. it was kinda flat in its storytelling. liked the dark elf guy tho:) also a gemmell fan and trying the assassin series by hobb.

Peoples! If you enjoyed the Belgariad you SHOULD really read Magician by Raymond E Feist. He is the TRUE master in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, The Belgariad was good but the Riftwar Saga is great!

the belgariad totally rocks! i first read the series when i was 9. i am now 11 and have read them about 9or10 times wich isnt very much but i've had tons of homework and other stuff.the mallorean isn't as good &i only found out they existed a while ago.the're not as good as the belgariad but i still like them. i would love to see both series put in to movies.

I followed the accepted 2 envelope method of writing a note of appreciation to the Eddings gor their work, but the outer envelope was returned: Return to sender No such Number Unable to forward. I used the DEL REY BOOKS Address at 201 E 50th ST. I googled the address and it seems valid. Any thoughts? Thanks, Phil

If they made a movie, I'd like to see: Silk - John Leguizamo Zakath - Arnold Vosloo (from 'The Mummy') Beldin - Sean Connery Mandorallen - Brad Pitt Barak - John Rhys-Davies Yarblek - Johnny Depp

I'm trying to find the names of a couple of out of print books by David Eddings for a birthday present, can anyone tell me what they are?

wow...first & foremost, if ever the belgariad & the mallorean series are made into film, i'd much appreciated it if they'd stick straight to the book....knowing hollywood....i can't imagine alec baldwin as zakath?? my thoughts are more on clive owen as zakath & ian mckellan as belgarath, for polgara....hmmm...i kinda agree with the choice of cat zeta-jones coz she's got the polgara-esque likeness about her....i like beldin's character & i think john rhys-davies would make an excellent beldin since he's got tat wickedly sarcastic charisma abt him... for silk....it would be tough...got to find a rodent-faced guy....adrien brody???

why would you, as real fans of eddings, like to see our world destroyed by cgi?why do you want to see one of the best stories ever told corrupted by hollywood?tolkien's lord of the rings is a fantastic read.it's been made into a spoonfeed for the masses because of hollywood's need to bring in ratings.not many will know the joys of reading tolkien's lord of the rings and the hobbit, why would they when it's on dvd?we should protect the joy of reading eddings.if we all object, then maybe we can keep the joys of reading a book for the future generations.don't let it be made into a hollywood sham.that goes for all books, let's keep the delight in reading alive.we're too wrapped up in tv and cinema.let's get back to the libraries of the world.it can open the door to many different worlds.embrace them.
