Hi, a lot of us have read the book/s and are keen to get recent updates on the girls. Any chance of a short note from Nadia and Zana on this board? The books are unique - they make you think. No matter what religion you are or the way you live your life, you have to admit that the plight of these girls was huge. It may be that the girls don't know the interest they are being shown on this site - could someone who knows them point this out? Myself, personally, hearing from Nadia and Zana will maybe put a lid on their previous plight. I know that there are other people out there who are experiencing hardship and despair so if anyone knows their story, put it on here and let's see if we can help in anyway.

I just read the book, 'Sold' I am shocked. I sat on the couch today and read it from start to finish without stopping. I can't believe it. I felt so sorry for Zana and poor Nadia. The father should be put in jail for what he did.

I would like to reply to the post that mentions how we have only heard one side of the story. I ask you to ask yourself why only one side of the story has been told? Try to think back to when you were just a teenager, how as teenagers we think we know all there is to know about life. This young girl was robbed of her life and her god given right to make choices for her self. The fact that she chose to stay with her children only shows to me that she was scared as to what would happen to them if she left without them. She has chosen to sacrifice her life for the love of her children. I am a great believer in the saying what doesn't kill you will only make you stronger. However, I also know that Jesus died on the cross for our sins and to allow us the freedom of choice. Nadia's choices were taken away from her the day she was sold to a man she had never met before, a young boy who due to his sickliness was unable to secure a wife for himself in the Yemen. Allah, God whomever you perceive Spirit to be most certainly did not exist within the soul of Nadia's father the day he chose to sell the 3rd of his daughters, nor anyone else who feels that she is still there out of her own choice.

Reciban bendiciones. Espero sus comentarios, gracias.

Mariam can you please not post a message ever again? If you people like your lives as they are, pretending to follow your religion, then keep it for yourselves. Leave us, the civilised ones to go one with our lives. I doubt if any God of human beings would allow such systems and attitudes to exist in any country. Any God is a God of love and equality of everyone before him!!!!!

I have recently read both books and i am sick to the stomach that a "father" can go through life knowing the pain hes still causing. Fair enough if the girls had never lived a westernised life but ones still living the nightmare and i just want to say zana pray to your angels for nadia and NEVER give up the fight youll get there in the end.xxxxx

I could not put a promise to Nadia down once I started to read, as a Christian I can only pray to God that one day Nadia will return to freedom, something we in the west enjoy everyday.........
