Hello! Erm, I was just wondering if anyone could possibly tell me what they think of a book that I'm writing; I'll take out a little excerpt so y'all can read it. Critisizms welcomed. :) (to a certain point) Enjoy! The ballroom gleamed in pure gold and white, sparkling marble; red tapestries were on every wall, and grand balconies surrounded the domed, angel-filled ceiling above, their images shining from the light of the colossal chandeliers. Hundreds of men in black tuxedoes were everywhere about the room, women in various shades of crimson and gold at their sides, their faces veiled with pale, forlorn masks . They were dancing to the sweet violin music of the grand ball, the men sweeping the ladies about, and the ladies obliging to their dance. Aastn stood at the farthest balcony from the arched, gold-rimmed entrance of the ballroom, watching the Nameless gentlemen and women waltz in hand-in-hand. Two tall men in customary suits stepped up to the tall doors at either side, and slowly closed them. They backed up to their posts at the far corners of the room. Aastn placed his cuffed hands on the spiraling, design-covered banister in front of him, his brow creased in thought, his gaze at the blood-red dancing before him. The doors of the ballroom suddenly burst open, sending a cold chill into the beautiful room. Only a bright white mist could be seen at first, then two silhouettes appeared, gliding inward from the deep mysterious mist. Aastn looked forward, emotionless. A handsome man with a beautiful young lady in a trailing white dress stepped into the ball through the mist, his arm around hers. The lady’s hair was up in a bun, with long, trailing bronze curls falling on her back. No one noticed the sudden entrance of these guests, but simply continued their melodic dance. They twirled and spun as the new arrivals walked through them, a path seeming to form as they waltzed forward into the hall. The lady’s pale face, laced in makeup, glanced up at the young man standing high up on the balcony. She stopped in the middle of the immense room, twisting around to face the man she was with. She waved his arm away from hers, and put her hand to his shoulder, and her other to his hand. The man put his hand to the small of the lady’s back, and they began dancing. The sweet music grew darker, sending a melodious tune through the hall and the dancers. The other dancers seemingly fled from the center of the ballroom where the man and woman danced, and swept themselves all around the corners. The young man standing on the balcony looked down at them anxiously, glancing to the left and right of the ball. The man on the ballroom floor suddenly twirled the young lady around, picking her up high into the air, then lowered her back down. The light in the room vanished, leaving only a grayish tint surrounding the center of the room. The music grew faster and even more so dark, sending shadows of magic flying through the room, circling the corners and the other dancers, and rising high around the dead chandeliers. The shadows attempted to hover to the high ceiling, but something prevented them from doing so, and they whispered wickedly and dived back down. Aastn’s eyes gleamed a devilish light as the shadows jumped in front of him and halted, midair, beyond the banister. Something shimmered down his back, just missed by anyone who may have blinked. The shadow remained in front of him, staring. He gave it a sharp look, and it hissed and whispered at him, then fled away, down to the other spiraling shadows. The pale dancers continued their spell, twirling and spinning through the pale spotlight. The shadows increased in number, and the young man on the balcony looked down at them thoughtfully. He turned on his heel and headed toward the spiraling staircase leading to the lower floor. A single blue star flashed to life at his side. What’s wrong? it asked politely. The young man made his way further to the center to the ball. “Keira,” he said quietly, as if none should hear. The dancers suddenly stopped amidst their own spell, but the darkness around continued to flood them in a sea of evil. The handsome man and beautiful young lady did not look at him, but kept their blank gazes on each other. “Keira,” the young man said, more fiercely now. The dark-blue gaze of her eyes flashed at him. At that very instant she looked at him, two vicious shadows dived at him. A crystal array of light flashed around him, emanating from the star by his shoulder, and the wicked shadows dissolved in the light. “What?” she snapped, breaking the silent spell and sending the dancers to twirl once more to the dark music. “You have

I'm glad because I'm writing a story about all those subjects below. Many people believe cupid is a naked baby with an arrow and bow but he grows up and gets married; that's the story I'm telling.

Well I've read three of those kind of books. And no they were not wierd. They fit into all the stories perfectly and they all ended great. I'd read about Vampires, werewolves, and magicians.

I'd like a honest vote, raise of hands how many of you would pick up a book on werewolves, vampires, magicians or cupid.
