Approximately how old is Claire at the beginning of the book Drums of Autumn? If she married Jamie when she was 27, was with him for 3 years then she ws about 30 perhaps almost 31 when she had Briana. If Briana is apprx 20 then is Claire about 50? Anyone know how she might be? Seems like she would slow down a bit at her age. I know, I know, it's a story, its pretend, age is not suppose to matter.

Is there going to be another book after "A Breath of Snow and Ashes". I'm sure I read some excerpts before this book was published that don't appear in it. For example, Claire marrying Lord John Grey??!!

If you like Outlander, you may also like Karen Moning's highlander series. Much lighter and not as epic as Outlander, but for a fun, romantic read with great highlander men, these ares enjoyable reads.

I am a very sarcastic person, overall. When I went to her book signing/book talk, she told a lot of jokes and she very obviously tried to make everyone feel like she wanted to be there. She was all smiles, and she seemed to love her job. If you take into account the long hours she spends away from her home, her husband, her family and friends... I think she is doing a darn good job. And, since I tend to have an odd way of interacting with people, a touch of sarcasm in other people is not something I can condemn.

Vickie: Certainly not personal experience! I don't think DG has ever been to Iowa so I could see her. No, my own observations based on what I have read from her to her fans. Don't get me wrong, this series is my absolute favorite. I have read the entire story numerous times and love it every time. But I find what she writes to her fans can be sarcastic. And while I enjoy employing sarcasm myself, there is a thin line between humor and condescension. Therefore, I enjoy the story, buy the books and don't read what she has to say on her website about when the next book is coming out and why it will take so long, yada yada yada.

Love, love love these books! Have read them all more than once, and still find new details. Not just the great storyline, or totally developed characters, but the way the words read on the paper! I read all types of novels, and there is a lot of junk out there. I have one question though... A post by Kay E (10/08) mentions not liking the author??? I am curious as to why she says that? Personal experience?

Several series of good reading are Rosemary Rogers..Steve and Ginny..Called Sweet Savage Love,Dark Fires, and Lost Love, Last Love. Also very good are Johanna Lindsey's Mallory Series..which are also very funny as well as good romance. Celeste DeBlasis Swan series are very well written romance that spans a generation of well written charaters. Hope you can check out some of these titles. The Outlander series is still my favorite! I have just come across the series starting with the Outlander. A wonderful book, could not put it down. I can't wait to read the next ones.
