John, you need to write more books
like the first ones. They were great.
The last three , I couldn't finish.

I loved his first books. Rainmaker was
brilliant, The Firm - great! Since Street Lawyer, they've gone downhill. Love him, but he needs to spend more time writing and get back into the character-building. Also, does he have script approval for the movies? I think they absolutely stink! They change SO MUCH detail, it's ridiculous. After the books, I can hardly watch the movies.

I just read The Appeal. Shame on you John Grisham for forgetting the most critcal lessons of story-telling. The readers will always be for the underdog, want satisfaction and justice and the bad guys to loose. This book could have been a great movie if only you had changed the ending. Ron Fisk was a God fearing man but he totally ignored the sign from God when his little boy was hurt. If he had written his opinion to uphold the verdict rendered in Mississippi for Baker vs Krane imagine how the reader would have felt? Justice would have been done and Barry Rinehart and Carl Trudeau would have leaped from tall buildings. Readers want satisfaction not a case history. Even having Carl Trudeau's disgustingly expensive boat blown out of the water by a fast moving cigerette filled with drugs and driven by two idiots high on drugs would have been some consolation. Think about it.

Just finished The Partner. Great book, but the ending was terrible. Did Eva steal the money? If so. why not steal it all? Did something happen to her? The ending of the book is like watching a fabulous fireworks show, only to end the show with hand sparklers!!

Just finished The Partner......Hated the ending.....I think John should bring these two characters back in a follow up book. I'd like to know what happened to Patrick and Eva.

Hi My names are as above..I am a peasant farmer from Kenya and I used to read your books while in school, which I really enjoyed particularly The Pelican Brief. Since then (ten years ago)I have not been able to get some of your later novels due to financial constrains..Is there a way you can assist me..even if they are old books I won't mind at all .Thanks

The Innocent Man was a great book which was based on a real life story I really appricate an author who could look at this story and decided that a book should be written. He wrote this book so weel that I actually began felling like i was there watching it all unfold. I have read all of Mr. Grisham's books and this one I really liked the most. I guess because it takes real courage to write a book about real events.

What is the time period in which the novel takes place (not when it was written)?
