Yes, I also like the elegant ways of the elves! Anyway, I don't think anything real suspicious of that Tom person. He just seemed like a happy-go-lucky person, although I only read the first of the LOTR book, was he in any others?

I love elves to with there long blond hair and sleek, no graceful moves. I like Legolas and Aragorn the best. I guess Gandalf too!

I believe that tom bombadil is either one of the valar, possibly osse, or a maia

I think tom bombadal (sp)is a powerful Anu (sp) or Valar

Yep - Sauron was a Maia, which is a middle race between the Valar & the rest of the species of M-E. Also of this race are Gandalf, Saruman, & the rest of the Istari, also Melian, mother of Luthien. Sauron was a pupil of Aulë before he turned to Morgoth. Wow, I think my first post ever here was about the origins of Sauron.

Yeah, Tom was always a seemingly mysterious character in my mind...we never knew exactly who he was, you know? Strange.
