Has anyone been able to talk Ms Spencer out of retirement yet? I have read quite a few of her books, Morning Glory and Vows being my two favorite. I am one of the many I am sure who are hoping for a sequel to Vows.

I read SPRING FANCY many years ago when it came out in Harlequin Temptation and loved it! I've since rediscovered Ms. Spencer's books. I read SMALL TOWN GIRL - it was a pleasure to read, and just finished YEARS which I absolutely adore! It is one of my all-time favorite books now. The characters stayed with me long after I finished and I'm doing a re-read of it right away. It was so good! I understand Ms. Spencer is no longer writing but I wish she would come out of retirement and write a sequel to YEARS. Would love to read about Kristian and Patricia and get an update on Teddy and Linnea. I'm planning on reading ll her other books.

Morning Glory is my favorite book ever. I read it once a year. Did you know that there was a movie made of this book. It starred Christopher Reeves. I was not thrilled with it.

I have an elderly friend who was reading Morning Glory and noticed Mrs. Spencer used the name Hazel Pride. She wants to know where she got the name because she is from Minnesota. In fact grew up there, very near Stillwater. Any chance of letting me know? She does not have e-mail.

LaVyrle's really great, worth reading, touching.... my personal favorite is That Camden Summer... but Then Came Heaven is also the best... my sister and I were collecting her books, so bad, we could just find her in BOOKSALE (2nd hand bookstore)where in we need much luck just to find one.... care to help, anyone?....

Years ago I read That Camden Summer, and I really enjoyed it. I hope to read more of her books. Another great author is Susanna Kearsley, it can be sometimes a bit difficult to find all her books but it is really worth it. Enjoy your Summer reading

I have been a fan for many years, but my ultimate favorite is Bittersweet. I read it every summer and love it just as much every year. This has happened for at least the last 9 years, but it never loses anything in the reread - just gets better.

LaVyrle Spencer is still the best, but I really enjoy Susan Elizabeth Phillips even though her style is very different than Spencer. I work in a library and recommend both of these authors, and people are rarely disappointed with either one. Some people don't like Spencer's long descriptions of things, but that's exactly what I like. Her inspiration for getting started writing was Kathleen Woodiwiss. I haven't read her myself, but perhaps her style would be similar.

My favorite LaVyrle Spencer book is Family Blessings. I've read it so many times. I also love Vows and wish she would come out of retirement and write about whatever happened to Charles Bliss. Does anyone recommend any other authors that come a little bit close to her books, I'm always disappointed!
