Oh Jim, that sounds familiar. Hi everyone. Haven't posted for a while, sorry, have been fighting my own demons. My sister back in hospital, we've had problems and stress a plenty, then to top it all Maddie has taken up 24/7 residence in our garden to be absolutely sure that Ginger does not get a paw into the garden or a meal. She really has it in for him. It's cloak and dagger stuff here. Us keeping a continuous lookout for him so we can sneak him a meal and him trying to sneak past Maddie. He is looking well fed, so he must also be fed elsewhere. Love to you all, Susan.

Gunning for Pumpkin all the way, Kat. Well said about keeping this going even if Deric isn't able to post - even though I only post sporadically, the genuine feel good factor of this forum helps me through (as others have mentioned) depression. Having no furry ones of my own at present, I love hearing about all of yours. And of course, all love to Deric, Aileen and family.

Thank you all for your lovely words and kind thoughts - Jan, Diana and Sugeebas, your words were lovely. Pumpkin is still with me, and has just had her 5th round of chemo. She is allowed up to 6 so we are nearing the end of that treatment. A CT scan next time will reveal where the cells have spread to and determine any future treatment. I don't know though - She's been through so much and so I will be driven by her will to go on. It will be her 13th Birthday on 18th April. She's still eating and still happily playing, so for now, we're OK - just loving every moment we have together. I hope you and your treasured fluffy friends are keeping well. Missing Deric's comments on here but we should keep going in his honour - after all, it was him that bought us together. xx

Thanks Kerry I read the piece on Deric. I was so glad to feel at least a little more clear about how he is - or at least was in December when that piece was published. We all love him so much for his unique humour and it seems he has not lost that thank goodness! Love to Deric, Aileen and family and to all who post on here. Sue xxx

Deric, you have been my inspiration when I look for material for my talks which I give to groups and anyone who asks me. I love the way you think and observe, and you make me do the same with the world around me. I read your books over and over, and find something new to laugh at each time, as well as cry at for the poignancy- gosh you've brought out my big words now! My love and prayers are with you and Aileen. I like her books too.

There is a lovely piece on line about Deric and Aileen. Google "Best-selling Huddersfield author Deric Longden on life, love and his terminal cancer"
