On the last page didn't he say Beatrice was his neice? I'm a bit confused about certain things too I thought he would say what the sugar bowl was and what VFD was were the answers in there and I didn't catch them??

Did you guys now since the last book "the end" by lemony snicket was out about maybe last friday it was out last year in wales. My pen-pal told me. Just thought I would tell you.

I think that just because the Baudelaires' mother is Beatrice and Lemony Snicket constantly refers to his love for her doesn't mean he is their father. I may be remembering wrong, but on several occasions (in the books and the autobiography) doesn't he say that he never ended up with her? I always pictured it as sort of a thing where he loved her but couldn't be with her.

Yes there is. And there's also an Erin hunter message board! Their books are about cats that live in the forest in clans. There's someone who named themself King Arthur and is bothering everyone in the sites around it! It is funny and fun. You guys should check it out!

I must say that i was confused by the The fiurteenth chapter. Is Lemony their father? If so, why don't they share the same last name? I have no clue what's going on.

I luvved the 13th book even though it wasnt as action packed as the rest, I had to read the last two chapters twice to get the hints and clues, and i am confused,if beatrice is the baudilaire mother (i think) and lemony loves her, then i thought he must be their father, BUT when they read the passage from beatrice saying they'll name the child if it was a boy "lemony" the baudelaires said: "well where did they get that name from?" so they obviously had no idea, UNLESS MR Baudelaire changed his name to escape the worlds treachery... hehe,
