Dear Ms Banks: I am an Elem. Ed. major from Kansas and have been assigned to create an author center. I have chosen you. The center will be on display for 3 weeks in an elementary school. I would love to share a quote from you in my author center. Will you share some thoughts with them? Thank you for your time and consideration. Mary Anne Lower

Dear Madam, My name´s Lourdes Lorenzo and I work at the University of Vigo (Spain) within the field of Translation Studies. One of our student has translated Harry, the Poisonous Centipede into Galician for her degree project and now, our research group would like to publish it. As you can imagine, we are a universitary group and not a private publishing house so our purpose is just to give to know our students (future translators) and NOT to make money at all. There is a Galician publishing house, Biblos, that is specialized in Galician books (Galician is the language spoken in Galicia, a Spanish region located in the nort-west part, just above Portugal; centuries ago Galician and Portuguese were the same language) and in the promotion of Galician. They would publish the books (500 copies) and distribute them (by means of their monthly magazine, which is sent to their members, actually around 1,500 in Galicia). We would like to ask you permission to publish this Galician version. Our research group has funds for a small gratification to our student, the Galician translator and we would also pay for the edition (500 copies). I would like you to notice that with the translation of your great book, you would be contributing to the survival of our language, actually under the pressure of both Spanish and Portuguese. Thanks a lot for your time. Would you be so kind as to answer to: sdfft@uvigo.es
