My husband & I saw the trailer for The Island, when seeing another movie at the theatre, I told him I had read the book under another title, It sure looks like John Darnton's The Experiment, but I don't see him getting any credit on the movie website and am wondering why.

This new movie "The island" due out seems similar to the expirement. Im wondring if the movie is based on the book because the information given out from the trailer rings a bell with me on so many levels.

I just read a review in Time Magazine from April 11th, 2005 on a book called "Never Let Me Go" by Kazuo Ishiguro. The review states it is about a government that raises clones for organ transplants.
Not sure if there are any legal issues, but it seems a bit too familiar. Anyone read the book yet? If so, how close is it to "The Experiment"?

Dear Mr Darnton
As we are producing for the Polish Television the documentary film "The 25th Anniversary of Gdañsk Agreements - A view from the West" we would like to ask you to take part in our film.
We also would like to take part in our film other significant people from USA and Europe.
The film is to offer insights into the collective experience of solidarity with Poland at a crucial time in its history. Shared by both political scientists and people with no connection to Poland or politics, it was surely an experience that defies easy explanation. Was it a gesture of sympathy to Poland on the part of the West? Was the West aware of the historic significance of the Gdañsk Agreements? Did it sense an imminent end of the Yalta Agreements? Or was the support for Solidarity an expression of Western conscience? In the film, we would like those who were among the staunchest supporters of Solidarity 25 years ago, and who obviously had no idea at that time of the possible effects of their actions, to explain the reasons why they committed themselves so passionately to the support of Solidarity and the cause of Poland's freedom. We are also curious to find out their opinions about the Gdañsk Agreements in the context of the subsequent collapse of the communist bloc.
Hoping to hear from you soon
