Alice Borchardt is not dead, unless it was kept as a secret as there is not info on her death on the internet, and the fact that the poster of the message calls him or herself "Unknown" leads more to the accusation that the poster is, indeed, mistaken. I do hope it was only sad misinformation and not some pathetic attempt to play a joke. I am still looking forward to the release of her new book, and can't wait for some new reading material!

i can't believe this. This really comes as a shock to me. I really hope that as a bittersweet memento, she will be recognized as a truly gifted writer by all.

I am so upset that she passed. Does anyone have any info on the last book in the dragon queen trilogy? Was it finished and will it be released?

The "Winter King" will be out in paperback in January 2007 and the "I, Gwenhwyfar" will be out in paperback in September, 2007. I am still searching for info on the hardback editions.

I absolutely love Silver Wolf. I have read many of her other books and enjoyed them - but I have waited at least what feels like forever for another Wolf book to come out. It just doesn't feel complete to me, I feel like there is more story that needs to be told. I would just love it if someone could tell me if she means to continue this series at some piont. Just put me out of my misery!@

Has not be released in hard cover yet and it takes a year after the hard cover release before the paperback is released. So, since the release date for the hard cover is Sept, 2007, you are looking at around Sept, 2008 for the paperback. If you search her name + book name (Winter King) you will find your info.

What makes you think that the sex in her books are fun? They're usually instances of rape. Why would a young person find that to be fun? I think you're being a little too paranoid. Yes, the scenes were meant to make you feel uncomfortable; anyone who wouldn't find rape uncomfortable would have something wrong with them. I do agree, however, that these are not books that parents would find appropriate for their children, but I wouldn't stop them from reading it either. I read George Dawes Green's The Juror when I was 15. It really enhanced my love for literature. Just a child reading a semi-advanced novel like Borchardt's is good enough compensation for what they might actually be reading.

There are adult themes in these books and I will not let my 15 and 13 year old read them because of it. Reading about sex before you are engaging in it yourself might make you think that sex is something to be taken lightly. Also if the first thing you read about sex is the warped torturous sex in some of these themes, you might get the idea that sex needs to be painful or warped to be fun. I did enjoy the books despite these scenes, but they made me uncomfortable which is the idea I think.
