I did not really enjoy this novel in the beginning it was sort of dull but in the end I discovered it to be very interesting. I really enjoyed the Characters of Darcy, Lizzie, and Lady Catherine. I would recomend this novel to others that enjoy this sort of reading. It really challenged my normal reading.

I think jane austens book pride and prejudice is amazing ... then i watched the bbc dvds of it and i thought it was pretty good , but then i watched the dvd with keira knightle y and i thought the acting in that was not nearly as good .. but thats only my opinion.

Even though the Pride and Prejudice movie isn't NEARLY as good as the book, it's very good in it's own way. I Love the book. I started Mansfield park once and got maybe half way through, but it wasn't really that good, at least in my opinion. It was kind of boring; the characters were Nothing compared to those in P&P. I need to try some of her others. My sister liked Northanger Abbey. Is it good?

I think that Jane Austens writing style is super lame. You don't get to know the characters and when Darcy proposes the 2nd time to Lizzy, there's practically no dialouge. I'm so over JANE AUSTEN and the multiple movies made after her books. GAG ME!

the new one wasnt even long enough to form Elizabeths character, it made her out to be another Lydia. Lizzy had no propriety in the new film, she would never have acted the way she did, to family, new acquantances, or old ones. She respected people even when they didnt deserve it and in this new one she was totaly rude to Darcy at their first meeting. it is totaly a different Lizzy than Jane Austen wrote in Pride and Prejudice!

I totally disagree: I think part of the beauty of the story is that it's always new. The BBC version of the movie is great, but stiff, you know: it focuses on a certain side of the story. The new film is more on mood, texture, romance... besides which Keira Knightley is turning out to be a fantastic actress. She was absolutely perfect: a more accurate Lizzie than Jennifer Ehle was. I read the book before seeing any of the movies [seen five so far: Greer Garson; another one that seemed to be more of a play; the BBC version; Bride and Prejudice with Aishwariya Rai; and the newest one] and I love that each new film brings something new.

you know, i want to know something. i just dont understand how if you liked the book you can like the new movie. i love the book, it is one of my top, like three, and i love the mini series with colin firth, but i absolutely abhor the new movie, it destroyed everything austen ever wanted to get across in her book. it destroyed the characters, the theme, the message, everything. i just dont understand how you can be a fan of the book and still like this new movie. Can anyone explaine that to me?

ps. the movie with Kiera Knightly was AMAZING and made me want to read the book. (normally it happens the other way around with me rushing to read the book before the movie hits theatres)
