I was wondering how old Jack Dubrul is - I knew Jack Dubrul and his brother, David, in the 1960's - wondered if the author is that person or perhaps his son.

I would like to ask the same question as the previous person. Where is Jack? I used to check his web site all the time but it has been down for months. I saw that book he collaborated on with Clive Cussler and that is the last I've heard about him in a long time. Anyone out there know anything?

Just noticed Paul's comment about the color of runway lights, and he is correct that it's the taxiway lights that are blue. However if he was rushing down the runway in a jet fighter it's not unreasonable to think he probably wasn't looking straight down at the runway lights, but more likely over to the taxiway lights where they run parallel to the runway. Be that as it may, it's just fiction anyway so does the color of the lights really make that big a difference?

Vulcan's Forge includes an airport sequence where an F-18 with Mercer aboard roars down the runway, blue runway edge lights whizzing by. Runways have white or (near the ends) yellow edge lights. Blue is for taxiways, so unless the pilot characters is really incompetent...

How long and/or difficult a task was it for Mr. DuBrul to get published. I've been at it for over 20 years and still no success. Can my question be answered by e-mail?

One of the features that I like about Clive Cussler books is that he doesn't use foul language. Jack DuBrul writes with a nice style, but he could have eliminated all 10 (or so) of the foul explicatives without distracting from the story. There are many non-offensive explicatives he could have used. Ok, call me conservative, but the language takes the book to a lower intellectual level.

His site has been down for some time and has just recently been removed. As to getting into contact with him, I have no idea.
