I'm really hanging out for the concluding Obernewtyn books, but i also understand how hard it is to get a book published- i can't believe how unreasonable some of you are with your expectations; ok, fine, a book was promised in 2009 and it has not come out yet, but try to be a little less emotional about it and more practical. There are heaps of reasons why 'the sending' may have been postponed- for all we know, isobelle or one of her family members may have become ill, she may have had disagreements with her publishers.. who knows! It's not unprofessional, it's just life! Grow up!

I really love the Obernewtyn Chronicles and can't wait to read The Sending. Does anyone know exactly when it will be published?

I am 47 and was introduced to the Obernewtyn Chronicles by a young work college. I adore the series and have read them over and over. It takes me out of this crazy fast passed world into theirs. If I were given a choice, I would go there any day and live out my life.
Thank You Isobelle for giving me a place to escape to via your books. I have friends over the age of 30 who are now reading your books and loving them as much as I am!
I would love to see Peter Jackson direct the Obernewtyn Chronicles and film it in New Zealand.
I look forward to future journey's through the wealth that is your beautiful imagination.
Thank You

Ariel was always called 'the one who brings destruction' - so maybe if he is not the destroyer himself, it is someone who he brings/helps

well yea its hard to write a book but giving a dead line of 09 and then changing it to 2010 is pretty unproffesional. If you don't work to a dead-line things will never get done.

The trouble is, while it has taken a while for The Sending to come about, Isobelle has been writing other stories as well. The third book in the Billy Thunder series has been one of her priorities among others. So it's not like she hasnt been writing.
And I for one can handle The Sending being postponed a little more, if it means there will still be other IC books to follow :)

Good lord! Whinge much. do any of you people know how hard it is to write a book. have you ever attempted to. well i have and its not easy. isobelle carmody has written many books that are loved by a wide range of readers. she is an author and a good one which you can see by all the awards she has won. if you can't appreciate what she has given you already as a writer then you do not deserve to read her books. its not about you and your selfish desires to see how a story ends. its a journey through time and it takes time.

You have to be wrong! The stone key is the fifth book and the sending is the sixth book. The sending is still not out! :(

My dear lord! I used to love J.K. Rowling and refused to read anything but HP... Over... And over... And over... And over... I have gotten into Obernewtyn Chronicles and confess myself an addict. I am amazed at the story line and love the Elspeth+Rusthon twist... THAT SAID... I hate Isobelle Carmody for not bringing out "The Sending" any freekn' earlier than late 2010... I am wringing my hands wondering how to get over my "Obernewtyn fix" :(
