This is an inspiring book that illustrates the power of sisterhood that exists within women's hearts and souls. The book's message shows how mature women can make a difference in the lives of young girls and young women. I will be sharing this with teachers in my school.

Wonderful novel! Even though I'm not into the Madonna "thing," the creative use of language, the strong characters, the historical accuracies and view points are woven together to create a rich story of love, healing, and coming of age. My favore aspect is the bees - aspects of the bees bring this novel close to magical realism. Nothing short of delightful and moving.
