Hello folks, I just wanted to add my own personal experience to the recent discussion of SEL. I am a screenwriter who has adapted the Brigadier Ffellowes stories for film/tv (website out there if you care to have a look) and have thus had the pleasure of corresponding with Sterling over the last 3 years. In my humble opinion he is without doubt a hugely talented writer, sculptor, book editor, and a generous and fascinating man. Both Sterling and his wife, Ann, have been enormously co-operative and supportive in the adaptation process. I will treasure this experience all my days. I wish them both the absolute best and it is my sincere wish, all personal gain aside, that Sterling's fabulous work makes it to the movies or to tv - and thus to a wider audience - in his lifetime. All best, Martin.

Hey caregiver, thanks for the update. Please, during one of his more lucid moments, try and express the interest we on this board have in his works, and what an impact he's had on our thoughts and lives. Pass on our very best wishes. Somehow we'd like someone to be able to write a third and final Hiero novel, to answer all those unanswered questions, and to take a bite of the lovely cake that is Mr Lanier's conceived post apocolyptic world. Also hoping the film mentioned will come to be, althought I realise how many are started and never released. BJS
