i all so have all cathren cooksons books and dvds. changing old paper backs for hard books. had all videos but canged them for dvds. i never get bored of reading them. finding some old ones hard to find.

I grew up in the North of England in a neighbourhood similar to those C.C. writes about. She certainly knew her subject well and because of her age remembered the atmosphere of the area and society. I have been reading her books since 1954 and have 5 letters she wrote to me. She wrote 2 of them and her secretary typed the other three but C.C. signed them.

Hi Bev, I think some of C Cooksons books were printed in England, but become available in the US at a later date. What do you think of her later works?

If she died in 1998, how come her books come out in the 2000's?

I lived in Northern England for many years, so I am very familiar with the places Catherine writes about. I have been reading her books and watching her movies for years. I now have a large collection of her books and movies. I can read her books (and do) over and over, and I never get tired of them! I have found bookstores that have out of print Catherine Cookson books if anyone is having trouble finding them.
