Edwin Castro posts on 5/25/2005 11:07:50 PM As a fellow Dominican I identified very much with several of the characters in his stories.I grew up in D.C. but I spent a lot of time in New York and Jersey.Until I discovered Diaz's stories,I didn't really believe that my own experiences and the way I interpret the world were worth writing about. Thanks to him I realized that my own experiences and desires were worth writing.I've always wanted to be a writer and now I have a model of what I aspire to one day become.Thank you Junot Diaz.Maybe I'll have a chance to meet you someday.

Saundz posts on 4/11/2005 7:44:25 PM Just finished Drown, picked it up at the library because it was thin. Loved it, wanting more from this author. It says on the second to last page - he is working on his next book. Not to hurry perfection, but that was 9 years ago. Any ideas when I might be able to consume it? This is why I prefer to read dead authors, you can whip through their collections without waiting for them to create.
