Romina posts on 6/27/2005 12:55:05 AM A very good read! one of Gaarder's masterpieces, and a very insightful treatise on the lives women lead in the olden times, and how St. Augustine profoundly influenced those whom he was with.
Brenda posts on 3/4/2005 10:11:38 AM I love this book, the author is sensual and thought provoking. Having us questions, just what is important in life.. power or the simple pleasures and earthly delights? It reminds one of great love achieved and lost and the lingering beauty of a life lived with earthly passion. A lesson for everyone who reads it.

Sabrina posts on 2/26/2005 6:02:15 PM I read this book in high school for my humanities class. I think it is a wonderful book. It makes you think about so many things in life and also makes you question lif in general. I am looking foward to reading another book by Gaarder
