I am an avid collector of sci-fi paperbacks. My personal collection dates back to first editions, first printings of such authors' works as A.E. Van Vogt, Philip K. Dick, Cordwainer who?, the "young upstarts" like Isaac Asimov, Bob Heinlen, Piers Anthony, Poul Anderson, E.E. "Doc" Smith, Gordon R. Dickson and everything by anyone in between and up to the present.
I was shocked, abeit pleasantly, to learn that there is another Rutledge (given name) out there and gratified that the only other bearer of the name that I have even heard of in my 44 years turns out darned fine work.
Is it gross serendipity our mutual interest in sci-fi should be the mechanism that has led to the end of my long search? Who knows but I would really like to know if we are alike in any other way? Who is this man who shares my moniker and what is he like?
Rutledge, if you monitor this message board or if there is anyone out there who can put in contact with him, I'll set up a drop box or dummy account to post for that purpose. It may be another 44 years or never before I hear of another Rutledge!
